T3 CPUs just announced!

The newest Sparc CMT (chip multi threading) member, T3 has been announced in Oracle OpenWorld!
New chip has 16 cores (128 threads!!!), runs at 1.65Ghz which is not that high number these days but remember that these machines stay cool, use less energy and make less heat. The other name is cool-threads:)
All in all there are 4 new server models announced. The server names are getting easier to understand also  - T3-1 (one socket), T3-2 (two sockets), T3-4 (four sockets with cool 512 threads!!!) and finally T3-1B (one socket in a blade form factor for our very popular SB6000).
New servers are targeted for very wide range of workloads - from web servers, app-servers, to consolidation platforms and database servers. Of course, highly optimized for Oracle applications, especially when using very advanced bits and pieces like Oracle Sun Flash Accelerator F20 PCIe card
